WEEK THREE: UPDATE

This week we completed our poetry study. Monday is the Unit Test – it would be appreciated if all students were in attendance. Thank you.

Following the test, students will be writing their first essay of the term. Students are to select a poem from a choice of six. Each poem is a dramatic monologue, and the student’s task will be to determine the personality of the speaker and analyze how that personality is revealed. Exemplars are provided.

GRADE 12 COURSE SELECTION:

  • Students must select their Grade 12 courses on “MyBlueprint”
  • They must PRINT the form, have it signed by a parent / guardian and brought to school asap
  • Students may take 6, 7, or 8 courses (dependent on spares and graduation requirements)

OSSLT PRACTICE:

  • Wednesdays at lunch in Room 207 (pizza – first come, first served)
  • Wednesdays and Thursdays after school in Room 212
  • Students must achieve a score of 300 / 400 or 75% (provincial average)

HOMEWORK:

  • STUDY for the unit test: cue cards, summary chart, student notes, annotated poems, Lucidpress platforms
  • PREPARE for the essay: select a poem, TP-CAASSSTT the poem, PRINT the required word files
